You've lived a good life you say? Well considering Romans 3:23 ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
I don't believe you. But lets say you have lived a life better than most. In James 2:10 It says "Even if you keep
the whole law and yet stumble at just one point, you are guilty of breaking the whole law. Now, in Romans 6:23 it says
For the wages of sin is DEATH. Therefore you, me and all the other
people in the world deserve death, because we've all sinned at least once. You cannot save yourself by keeping the law,
because all people including yourself are guilty. The only person who hasn't is Jesus Christ, who took the penalty of
death. I would suggest very highly that you go to Jesus and ask him to remove your sin. It will end
up popping back up again, but just go back to the him and ask him to strengthen you. Remember, with salvation,
you also need to obey him. Romans 6:1 "What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?" Try
